CTEK’s new CS FREE is a portable, dual-purpose unit that is both a charger and booster which is complimented by the optional SOLAR PANEL CHARGE KIT. Combined, these two products give you peace of mind when main supply power is unavailable.
The world’s first truly portable battery charger and maintainer with Adaptive Boost technology, you simply charge up CS FREE’s internal battery via the 240V cable and keep it with you wherever you go. It will stay fully charged for up to a year and has a life span of 300 cycles.
The CS FREE features the revolutionary Adaptive Boost technology to quickly get you going from a flat battery. Simply connect the CS FREE using the supplied clamps and switch it on. It analyses the state of your battery and automatically adjusts to suit the battery’s voltage level then works out the safest and quickest way to give your battery the power it needs to start your vehicle within 15 minutes. Unlike most boosters or jump starters, the CS FREE is sensitive to the state of the battery and only gives it the charge it needs to get you started. If needed, it will use Adaptive Boost if your battery is dead flat, and the LEDs displayed will give you an indication of the progress. The CS FREE’s exceptional performance is due to its internal lithium battery with a Super Capacitor cell which allows it to dump a significant amount of charge in a short time.
CS FREE works anywhere and can be powered by 240V, a 12V accessory socket, a 12V service battery or the optional Solar Panel Charge Kit and can be left connected to your battery for longer term maintenance charging.
CS FREE Works with all types of 12V lead acid and lithium batteries and is suitable for use on motorbikes, cars, leisure vehicles, boats and vans etc.
The CS FREE will also charge multiple electronic devices using the USB-A and USB-C ports on its side.
Charging the CS FREE via the supplied 240V cable will take an hour for a 0-80% charge.
Our resident electronics expert, Mick Caulfield, has tested the CS FREE on both lithium and acid batteries with the following results:
- A 12V 100AH lithium battery at 50% charge took 1.2 hours to fully charge.
- A completely flat 12V 180AH lithium battery took 4 hours to fully charge
- A completely flat 12V acid battery received enough charge to start a car after 15 minutes.
