We have had a fantastic response to our new high school program, Get Hooked… Fish for Life, with 66 NSW high schools already registered!

NSW DPIRD recently launched this innovative, state-wide initiative to empower students to become champions of sustainable fishing and environmental stewardship. The new high school program includes curriculum-aligned units – Fishing in NSW; Understanding Fish Habitat; Conserving Fish Habitat with lesson plans, activities and assessments tailored to Year 7 to 10 students.

It also promotes the health and social benefits of recreational fishing to teenagers and encourages inclusive participation across all ages and genders.

Don’t miss out – join the 66 schools already on board!

Schools can click the Register Now button on the High Schools – Get Hooked page: High Schools – Get Hooked

Your recreational fishing licence fees are making a real impact – helping to educate and inspire the next generation of responsible and sustainable fishers.
This is all part of ‘Fish For Life – building a healthy fishing future.’
